According to the World Health Organization (WHO), air pollution from solid particles, which causes numerous diseases, leads to several hundred thousand premature deaths in the European Union and up to three million in the world, is one of the most serious problems for humanity. This article presents the oldest and most commonly used dust control method in the industry for the transport of bulk materials, which is the use of wet liquid spraying systems. The key factors contributing to the fight against dust are indicated, the possibility of using surfactants is considered. The authors investigate such an urgent problem today as the further development and study of methods of dust removal in industrial construction. The main place in the article is occupied by the issue of increasing the efficiency of the process of air dedusting by low-pressure irrigation. A method for a mathematical description of this process is proposed. The work contains tables and formulas that allow tracing the process of mathematical transformations. The authors of the article present the results of their research, the final result of which is a mathematical description of the dependence of the efficiency of the dedusting process with low-pressure irrigation, taking into account the accepted assumptions and boundary conditions. • Technology design of the exploited roofs in a dense urban development

This article is devoted to the issue of rational exploitation of space in cities with a large population. It is known that a sharp decrease in the area of land plots within the city limits accessible to public use leads to a decrease in the quality of life of citizens. The authors of this article are considering in detail the possibility of using roofs as additional public spaces. The article discusses such methods for using roofs as solar power generation, rainwater harvesting, apiaries and poultry farms, sports complexes, playgrounds, vegetable farms, etc. Particular attention is paid to the so-called ""green roofs"", their design, classification, application. The authors of this article talk about the numerous advantages of green roofs, such as the ability to manage wastewater, reduce the influence of “urban heat islands”, create new public spaces, create new jobs, increase energy efficiency, reduce noise, increase market value, etc. However, the authors of this article did not forget to show the disadvantages of green roofs. The main disadvantages of this project are the higher initial cost, the increased load on the foundation and walls, and the increased costs of operation. Nevertheless, the authors draw conclusions that the advantages of green roofs far exceed their disadvantages and the further development of this direction is very important and promising. 3. Installation of active seismic resistance monitoring systems (active method). Such an active feedback control system contains three main elements: a. Sensors for measuring external excitation; b. Computer hardware and software; c. Drives to provide the necessary control forces. At present, the most popular is the hybrid method of semi-active control, which combines the advantages of a seismoisolating basement with passive shock absorbers, which is much more economical in comparison with the active method.

  • On the use of air-supported structures

The authors of this article considered some aspects related to the history, manufacture and operation of temporary public pneumatic structures in an urban environment. In recent years, pneumatic structures have been used quite often and successfully as multipurpose portable temporary structures for public use. They are an excellent alternative to traditional capital structures made of steel, concrete, bricks. The authors showed design differences and features of air-supported and air-inflatable buildings, described in detail the areas of their application, advantages and disadvantages. This article discusses the characteristics of the material used for coating pneumatic structures, modern innovative trends in the production of multilayer composite membranes. The authors of this article conclude about the possibility of expanding the use of pneumatic structures instead of traditional portable temporary public buildings.

  • The use of ventilated facades, DVF in modern construction

Ventilated facades are becoming quite common in Europe and around the world. This type of facade provides good thermal comfort in the room. This article describes the main trends of the development of modern facades. The authors look at the numerous advantages of ventilated facades and their varieties with a double chamber (also named multiple-skin façade) in front of traditional massive facades. There is a wide variety of concepts of facades that provide ample opportunities for the work of architects of various schools and directions. The article argues that the design strategies for ventilated facades should adapt to climatic conditions and take into account local features, such as average annual temperature and its extreme values, solar radiation, humidity levels, in order to minimize building loads and energy consumption. The use of double ventilated facades in the construction of new ones and the re-lining of previously constructed buildings with them contribute to the improvement of the ecological characteristics of the urban environment.

  • Main methods used in the design of earthquake-resistant objects

The traditional approach to designing seismic resistant buildings is to provide the building with strength, rigidity and inelastic deformation capacity. modern methods of protection, in contrast, are not to strengthen the building, but in its ability to relax forces and stresses. There are three main methods used in the design of earthquake-resistant objects. 1. The use of seismic insulating basement. This system provides isolation only in the horizontal direction and is rigid or semi-rigid in the vertical direction. 2. The use of devices that dissipate the energy of an earthquake. In the building, seismic dampers are installed, which reduce the magnitude of vibrations, turning the kinetic energy of the vibrations into thermal energy.

  • Simulation of the design activity diversification of innovative enterprise

In recent years, competition has increased among leading universities for leadership. The competition affects the architectural environment of the university campus. So what trends have helped to shape university campuses in recent years? 1.Starchitecture. Contemporary Campus Design(2018), universities continue to be drawn by the allure of the world-renowned architects known as the “starchitects”. 2. Adaptive reuse– a model that, according to its advocates, can be more environmentally friendly and cost-effective and is far more sensitive to the local landscape. 3. Sustainability. Sustainable development consists of balancing local and global efforts to meet basic human needs without destroying or degrading the natural environment. “The greenest building is the one that’s already built”, but a desire to build sustainably is still a huge influence on the creation of new university structures. 4. Shared use. One way to address the underuse of university buildings is by sharing them with other organisations. This can help to save money and reduce the university’s carbon footprint. 5. Informal, flexible learning spaces. The shift away from lecture theatres is a definite trend. Online learning is transforming the spaces that universities are building. There is noting a rise in student demand for “hub buildings”, which “comprise informal learning spaces, social spaces, IT facilities, dining areas and counselling [services]” 6. The allure of the city- a city centre location looks increasingly desirable to universities intent on satisfying the demands of students. According to the authors of the article, the use of the above principles in the design of campuses will increase their competitiveness.
